I went into Lomography on East 23rd Street in Manhattan a few weeks back, having heard of the camera / format before but not being entirely familiar with it. Their storefront is visually arresting, with their trademark cameras on display and photographs wallpapered all over. It’s situated next to…
Sorry Hipsters!

Sorry Hipsters; If you want to learn about an injustice, especially from another country, listen to those affected and locally involved, not those who may profit from its simplification.
Suburban kids - one act on one day doesn’t solve problems. Watching one 20 minute video isn’t education. Yes Joseph Kony is bad. Yes he should be arrested. But let’s not kid ourselves that a facebook share, or a Tumblr reblog, or a retweet really does much.
There is a hypocrisy underlying our actions when it comes to charity like this, where we, as a developed nation, assume we know best, assume because we have the resources we should dictate exactly how other countries develop. Development should not be one size fits. The very assumption that because we have Starbucks on each corner we are developed is dangerous in itself.
“I’m not against charity — my God! In the abstract sense, of course, it’s better than nothing. But let’s be aware that there is an element of hypocrisy there.” -Slavoj Zizek

Sorry Hipsters, you ruined your own Thanksgiving for Black Friday: a capitalist marketing holiday in front of the nearest Apple Store. Sorry if the dinner wasn’t vegan.

Sorry Hipsters; just because you wear ethnic clothing doesn’t automatically make you understanding of other cultures. Also militants in the Middle East want their scarfs back.
I’m feeling lazy here’s one from awhile ago
Don’t think the hipsters have good will, in the first place !
After reading the note with the Martin Luther King Jr. quote, regarding partial misunderstanding from people of good will, I must comment that I don’t think the hipsters have good will, in the first place. I think they are *intentionally* mentally lazy/ disingenuous in the adherence to MTV era specialized trends and postmodernism which they like .

I agree to an extent. We always hear of the cliche, “be an active participant in your education.” It seems we have created a culture of people who are actively participating in the creation of their own ignorance.
We’ve reached a point in our civilization where counterculture has mutated into a self-obsessed aesthetic vacuum. So while hipsterdom is the end product of all prior countercultures, it’s been stripped of its subversion and originality.
“An artificial appropriation of different styles from different eras, the hipster represents the end of Western civilization – a culture lost in the superficiality of its past and unable to create any new meaning. Not only is it unsustainable, it is suicidal. While previous youth movements have challenged the dysfunction and decadence of their elders, today we have the “hipster” – a youth subculture that mirrors the doomed shallowness of mainstream society.”

Sorry Hipsters; being progressive for the sake of being progressive, is not very progressive. Congratulations on being a fashionable rebellious commodity. Slogan based knowledge is still slogan based knowledge regardless of what it supports.

Sorry Hipsters; “Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will.” - MLK Jr.
